Final Coursework: 华韵

华韵 is the title of my makeup collection :)

Finally it’s completed.

Thanks be to God,

all the teachers for their kind guidance: Mrs Tan Wee San, Mr Lim Kok Boon, Mr David Gan

my parents for their strong support & TRIXIE for a sweet ideas

all my classmates for their unceasing encouragement and endless stream of ideas: Laura, Yiyi, Weng Jue (for the beautiful title!), yingda

all fabulous AEPers :) esp. hanqing and hui suan for giving me some tips for photoshop!!

and the mac lab! (not possible without e wacom tablet!)

So here are the six products, namely the dragon eyeliner, hanbok lipstick, lantern eyeshadow, norigae mascara, obi blush and kanzashi powder :D

I am really proud of the final products, it has really come a long way and finally overcome the numerous twists and turns. I guess it’s all up to the viva voce now!

The write-up and description of the collection is in the sketchbk aka. prep work, and it’s written in there, so I am unable to write it here, but here goes a rough idea:

华韵 is a makeup collection featuring 6 uniquely designed products that celebrate the oriental culture. When one steps into beauty halls, the stunningly westernized images of big brands such as estee lauder and lancome overwhelm us. Even the asian beauty brands no longer retain the asian culture in their products and campaigns. The erosion of such a unique identity is evident in the use of materials such as plastics, western models for advertisements rather than celebrating the authentic culture from which these brands emerged from. Thus I design this collection as a celebration of such wonderful culture that we ought to treasure.
